With all the changes that have taken place in the construction process over the years, one need remains constant: the need for accurate timely cost reporting and progress tracking. The mechanical field, with all its many diversities, poses obstacles not encountered by other fields of construction. Scheck prides itself on its history of staying on the leading edge of innovation, through utilization of project management systems such as Constructware, Primavera, Expedition and ProLog. All of these systems, great in their own right, have fallen short of meeting the ever changing needs of our clients and our internal cost accounting. Through lessons learned and the continuous improvement process, we began the development of Scheck Trac, a remote time entry and cost tracking system that is fully integrated with the Timberline accounting system.

Over the years, Scheck Trac has evolved into a full blown cost accounting and project controls system, providing Scheck and its clients with real time cost tracking, seamless one time payroll entry, state of the art productivity tracking, absentee analysis and other tracking data that is forever customizable to integrate electronically with virtually any Windows compatible software. Into the future, Scheck Trac is to evolve into a web based solution, providing our clients with instant access to all the critical information required to manage costs in today's competitive environment. Modules currently under development include equipment utilization and costing as well as material purchasing and control. Scheck Trac is truly innovative for today, and sure to be ahead of its time for tomorrow.
Project performance measurement is accomplished through strict work processes including our Scheck Trac Commercial Control and Tracking System which provides objective quality data throughout a project’s life cycle.
Scheck Trac Project Control System
Scheck Industries project execution model is based on accountability and continuous improvement at both individual and collective levels. This requires that all resources expended be accounted for and resultant accomplishments be quantified. In order to establish an accurate history of project performance, all resources expended performing added scope and rework activities must also be tracked and accounted for. We use our Scheck Trac as the primary tool to accomplish this.
Scheck Trac is a project control system built by Scheck Industries that captures craft hours expended on activities not included in the project’s control estimate. The craft hours expended during the performance of these activities are categorized by root cause, discipline and any other project breakdown that may be useful for analysis, i.e. unit, construction area, etc. This database, developed in real time with project execution, is routinely analyzed for trends and corresponding corrective measures are established.
