Training
Training is a critical path to our culture of safety at Scheck. Each employee receives a copy of our Employee Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) Handbook and is trained on its contents. Coverage is documented with a SH&E Training & Orientation Acknowledgement form signed by the supervisor or trainer. In addition, employees are required to attend both general and site-specific orientations on every applicable project.
Additional Safety, Health and Environmental training is required for all supervisors/foremen using the Scheck Industries SH&E Supervisor Training Manual.
Our Safety, Health and Environmental department conducts the specialized training required for high risk projects due to toxics, flammables, confined spaces, high work or complex energy control situations.
Job Aids for Working Safely program talks are conducted daily on all Scheck Industries jobsites. A quiz is given at weekly training sessions. At customer locations involving turnarounds or outages, additional job-specific information is covered as required.
Quarterly review meetings with the Safety, Health and Environmental department are held with all supervisors and foremen. These meetings are used for other safety program training as needed, such as driver safety, fall protection, accident investigations and more. Motivational and behavior modification techniques are also used.
