Geri Hlavac Retires After 26 Years with Scheck
When she first started her career with Scheck, Geri Hlavac was using a ledger and writing the eight weekly paychecks by hand. She was hired as a temporary accountant in accounts payable, and quickly became a more permanent fixture with Rich Scheck and Kathy Dalmer, director of accounting and treasury, alongside just a handful of other employees.
New Controller Highly Experienced in Construction
Scheck is pleased to welcome Controller James “Jim” Sideris to the senior management team. He is now responsible for managing the financial accounting, reporting and transaction processing activities within Scheck Industries, and reports to CFO Kevin McDonnell in the Countryside headquarters.
Scheck Recognized by Industry Leaders and Reaches Safety Milestone
Scheck received the Contractor Award for Meritorious Safety Performance for achieving a total recordable incidence rate of “Zero” for 101,533 hours at the Trainer Refinery of Monroe Energy. The award, presented by the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers, recognizes contractors working a minimum of 20,000 hours per calendar year that achieved a total recordable incidence rate of 0.6 orless with no workplace fatality during 2014.
Scheck Honored at TAUC Conference with Safety Award
Scheck received a Thomas J. Reynold’s Award for Excellence in Construction Safety during The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) 2015 Leadership Conference.
2015 Annual North Riverside Youth Scholarship Golf Fundraiser
Scheck Chairman Richard N. Scheck, who serves as Board Trustee of the Youth Scholarship Foundation, celebrated with a number of proud scholarship recipients during the 2015 Annual North Riverside Youth Scholarship Golf Fundraiser on June 8, 2015, at the Riverside Golf Club.
Scheck Family Helps Homeless Veterans
Just over a year ago, Judy Scheck, wife of Founder and Chairman Richard N. Scheck, read an article in the newspaper about a housing program for veterans. Within minutes, she was convinced this was a project in which she wanted to be involved.
